Final Line Up of Mr.Moon! I decided to redo Mr. Moon's portrait entirely along with his pose in the simplified line-up. Hope you enjoy, this project was a lot of fun!

Brief Description: Mr. Moon is a moon deity that wanders the night and grants dreamers peaceful dreams. He rides around on a cow named Gouda, who leads his army of sheep (named after various cheeses) that assist him with various dreams. Each sheep caries a power that help enhance various dreams depending on the dream’s mood.

So after some thinking I decided to redo Mr. Moon's portrait entirely. While it sucks having to start over, it gives me the opportunity to show some process!

My friend pointed out that his portrait seemed wildly out of place. So like Gouda and the space sheep, he now has a border. Anyways, the first order of business was laying down a sketch.

 Then I cleaned up the sketch and made (sort of) nice lineart.

 Added a background.

 Putting down the base colors.

Rending, overlay and the final result! I started painting over the lineart layer and started added touches with overlay and multiply layers.

Mr. Moon Revision?

I tried to reposition Mr. Moon into a more active pose.  I honestly think I have to tweak it a little more, or redraw it all together. Something just feels really off to me and it's bugging me. I didn't really get as much done as I was hoping to this week. Luckily, my workload is light this weekend and I can focus on making these look a little nicer for the final!

Line-Up and Portraits of Mr. Moon

I decided to go with Mr. Moon for my project. It didn't take me long to come up with a palette. I choose a nightly color scheme with a hint of yellow for an accent.

 

I had a lot of fun painting these pictures! It took a while, but I learned a few things along the way.

More Character Designs and Ideas

I drew a few more things involving the delinquent magical girls along with two new ideas. First off, here's some more sketches of the magical girls.

These next set of sketches involve a group of sirens (Aloe, Talia and Muriel) that form a hardcore metal rock band. However, their fellow sirens hate their music and think they should just give up. The sirens then decided to preform for a different audience, the landdwellers. It works out for them, but that's only because their music has hypnotic properties that make any landdweller go head over heels for it. The sirens now seek out for a way to preform their music for someone's real enjoyment.

The third idea is about a moon deity that wanders the night and grants people peaceful dreams. He goes by Lun DeNoir and he travels on his trusty steed Gouda the cow. An army of sheep (all named after various cheeses) assists him on his journey, along with a second cow named Pepperjack.
